Developer Legendary Games has officially released Mordheim: Warband Skirmish, a turn-based strategy mobile game based on Games Workshop’s table-top game Mordheim. The game is now available via the Apple App Store, Google Play, and the Amazon App Store.

Players start the game in control of a small warband picking through the ruins of the City of Mordheim. Three factions currently battle each other in a brutal civil war over who should be the next Emperor. Players are tasked to collect wyrdstones, the valuable shards from the comet that destroyed the city, in order to fuel the war effort and gain supremacy.

A multiplayer turn-based strategy game, Mordheim: Warband Skirmish allows players to recruit, customize, and train their Warband to their personal style, whether it be stealth-based ambushes, ranged firing, or melee combat. Three mercenary groups available on release, the Reiklanders, Middenheimers, and Marienburgers, each representing a different claimant for the imperial throne. Each band displays different traits and play styles.

More factions will follow as DLC, including the Skaven, skulking rat-men who need Wyrdstone to thrive; the Sisters of Sigmar, the only faction with remotely honorable intentions; Witch Hunters, Agents of the Grand Theologonist who burn first and ask questions later; the Cult of the Possessed, composed of those who have turned to dark powers for salvation; and the Undead, the servants of of the Vampire Counts.

In addition, Mordheim: Warband Skirmish will have an officially unveiling from May 27-28, 2017 at Warhammer Fest, at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry, United Kingdom.
