Developer OmniGames have launched a Kickstarter for their upcoming virtual reality game, Age of Heroes VR. More specifically, the goal of the crowdfunding campaign is to raise $10,000 in order to expand the game’s content further to provide gamers with a more in-depth experience. Omnigames have also incorporated stretch goals up to $40,000 which include features like a tavern system where players can hang out and play minigames together.

Set in a fantasy world, Age of Heroes VR is a multiplayer combat VR game that emphasizes physical combat and boss battles. The game includes a single player mode, while the multiplayer modes allow up to five players. In addition to the usual MMO characteristics such as multiple character classes, loot, level progression, built-in voice chat, and boss raids, the game includes a full-body avatar which responds when other gamers interact with the player. Uniquely for a VR title, it features cross platform multiplayer, enabling gamers to play together whether they are using HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, or (eventually) PSVR.

In a statement, the developers said, “We have the private resources that will allow us to deliver the core product. Actually, we expect to release the early access of the game this May. Then why Kickstarter? The answer is actually very simple. We want to make it even better with more raids, more classes and more game modes. And only with your voice and support could make this happen. Kickstarter builds the bridge to connect us directly to you, our most valuable players”.

Backers have a limited time to get a discount on the backer tiers for the campaign. The early access version of the game is set to land on Steam towards the end of May, while support for PSVR will be incorporated post-launch. The Kickstarter concludes on Friday, May 12, 2017.
