Publisher Maximum Games has announced the European availability of ArmaGallant: Decks of Destiny, a deck-building game blending elements of RTS and MOBA gameplay that was released in Asia last year. The game is a PlayStation 4 exclusive and won first place in the 2016 Wargaming Labs Dev Contest. It is now available throughout Asia, Europe, and in North and South America.
Developed by Rock Nano Global, the game has players create a deck before they go head-to-head in real-time strategy battles using a collection of elemental creatures and spells. Players must fortify and defend strategic points on the map even as they try to take their opponent’s points. The game features three unit classes – melee, ranged, and flying – each with a variety of attributes that influence play. To further complicate matters, creatures and spells available belong to one of five elements (Light, Dark, Water, Fire, and Earth), each with their own strengths and play styles. Victory in battle unlocks new cards, while gold won can be used to level up cards, strengthening their overall effects to do more damage. Players have the option of engaging in 2v2 online play or private matches with friends.
“While ArmaGallant focuses on the core mechanics of traditional card games, it’s the swift and quick-witted combat that sets it apart, blending strategic deck-building with fast-paced action.” said Christina Seelye, CEO of Maximum Games.
“ArmaGallant is an exciting take on deckbuilding games, relying on RTS rather than turn-based battle maneuvers,” said Andrew Nguyen, a Producer at Maximum Games. “For those who love building decks but want the dynamic action of an RTS, this is the perfect blend.”
ArmaGallant: Decks of Destiny has a suggested retail price of $19.99. The game is rated E for Everyone by the ESRB and the various European rating agencies have classified the title as PEGI 12.
