Pokémon Bank, the online service which enables players to withdraw and deposit to and from various Pokémon titles, has received a new update today making it compatible with the latest games Pokémon Sun and Moon. It is now possible to bring Pokémon that do not natively appear in Sun and Moon into the games.
This update even allows players to transfer their Pokémon from the Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console versions of Pokémon Red, Blue and Yellow into Pokémon Sun and Moon. Previously non-existent Pokémon parameters from the Virtual Console games like Abilities, Natures, Sp. Atk and Sp. Def will be generated after porting to Pokémon Sun and Moon.
Besides latest-gen compatibility, two new features have been added to Pokémon Bank, the Pokédex and adventure records. Both depend on data from previous Pokémon series games registered with Pokémon Bank. The Pokédex feature will allow players to see all information about Pokémon registered from past titles. The other new feature, Adventure Records, will allow players to look back on their adventures in the Pokémon series. Figures and stats like the number of Pokémon caught or the number of wild Pokémon encountered will be accessible from the saved data registered to Pokémon Bank.
Finally, players who access Pokémon Bank between January 25 – October 2, 2017 will be able to claim the limited-time special item Mewnium Z, the Z-Crystal for the Mythical Pokémon Mew. By giving Mewnium Z to a Mew which knows the move Psychic, it will be able to use the powerful Z-Move Genesis Supernova.
Pokémon Bank is a subscription service which has an annual membership fee.
